Savinho shows true colours as he makes ‘really sad’ admission after Arsenal hammering

Brazil International Savinho has described the one -sided defeat of the Toll Manchester City against Arsenal.

The city's season reached a new layer after the side of Pep Guardiola on Sunday a 5-1 defeat in the Emirates Stadium fell. Savinho helped Erling Haaland to cancel Martin Odegaard's opener early in the second half before Arsenal then called in the after -burners.

The wing player – who was part of the team that lost 4-0 earlier this season to Tottenham – passed a still Grimmer day when City shipped five goals to fall 15 points of the title of the Premier League. Every hope for a title defense now looks good and really over, and the post-match words of Savinho seemed to catch the sombre atmosphere in the dressing room of the city.

“It was very frustrating and sad. I don't think a player likes to lose, especially with that score,” he told Telemundo (via Manchester Evening News). “It was a very tough defeat today.”

Although new for the team after his summer movement of Troyes, Savinho has quickly taken on a prominent role in the city of Xi. And his responsibility after the game might point to the adult attitude that his manager has won.

“The responsibility lies with all players,” he added. “Thank goodness I have a good personality to play, to understand the game and what it asks of me, so I think I helped the team, but I am really sad about today's defeat.”

The young star remained optimistic despite the sounding victory of Arsenal in the city. The result of Sunday was the first time in 22 years that the Gunners scored five goals in this fixture and moved them within six points from table leaders Liverpool.

Savinho continued to say that City now has to take their season “Game by Game” with a fifth consecutive competition crown that apparently is excluded. Liverpool will again make nine points clear if they beat Everton in Wednesday's Merseyside Derby, 18 points ahead of the city in fourth place.

City is now focusing on the FA Cup with a fourth round collision against Leyton Orient this Saturday, and the competition seems to be their best chance of lifting a trophy this period. They will also fit in the knockout phase of the Champions League, although a two-legged affair with title holders Real Madrid threatens to stop their European campaign.
