‘Scandalous refereeing’… Fans furious as heavyweight grudge match ends in huge controversy

The British heavyweight title win of David Adeleye on Jeamie Tshikeva did not come without controversy.

The vacant British heavyweight boxing title Matchup between bitter rivals David Adeleye and Jeamie Tshikeva did not disappoint, but it was overshadowed by a controversial end.

Adeleye and Tshikeva went punch-for-punch on the first five action rounds, because their bitter feud resulted in an entertaining fight as long as it lasted. But round 6 signaled the turn of the tide, albeit in a questionable way.

A harmless clinch between Adeleye and Tshikeva resulted in the referee who tried to break through and reset the action, but referee Ron Kearney seemed to push the gloves of Tshikeva down while he tried to break them out. Immediately Adeleye landed a huge left hook on Tshikeva, when the chin of Tshikeva was exposed after all pushed his guard down.

After they have achieved a 10-count, Tshikeva and Adeleye continued to fight, albeit with Tshikeva's back on the ropes and with Adeleye pushing forward. Boxing fans were furious on social media about the Adelye/Tshikeva interruption.

The corner of Tshikeva was shouted at Kearney while he waved the fight, probably with the controversial series less than a minute earlier. At the moment it is uncertain whether Tshikeva and his team are planning to appeal against the battle in the hope of ordering a rematch and a no-contest pronunciation.

David Adeleye vs. Jeamie Tshikeva Rematch possible after a random fight

The Adeleye vs. Tshikeva pre-Fight festivities were moved to say the least. The two went after the press conference before the fight, with a table that was hurled while a melee followed.

Adeleye went in the fight of a Bounce back victory over Solomon Dacres for the English heavyweight championship in December. He rather suffered his first career fight a fight and lost to Fabio Wardley through the seventh round of TKO to renounce his heavyweight belts.

The 28-year-old Adeleye is considered one of the best heavyweight talents of boxing by many, together with colleague UK, striking Moses Itauma. In the meantime, Tshikeva's three-fighter wintreak was put in the controversial defeat against Adeleye.

An Adelye vs. Tshikeva -Rematch can be around the corner, after the controversial end of their fight this weekend. Expect the structure of their second fight will be centered around the observed unfinished things in the Ring.
