‘Scumbag move’… UFC fighter accused of sending multiple ‘spies’ into his opponents camp two weeks before clash

UFC middleweight contender Chris 'Action Man' Curtis is furious with his next opponent, Roman Kopylov, after the Russian allegedly sent several spies to his training camp.

The pair of talented middleweights will face off at UFC Fight Night: Dern vs Ribas 2, the first UFC event of 2025.

Chris Curtis accuses UFC opponent of sending spies to his camp

Chris Curtis faces Roman Kopylov on the main card of UFC Fight Night: Dern vs Ribas 2, with that first UFC card of the new year scheduled for Saturday, January 11, 2025.

Just over two weeks after their middleweight showdown, Curtis has now made quite the accusation against Kopylov, with the 'Action Man' claiming on Instagram earlier this morning that he was being spied on.

“A few weeks ago two Russians showed up wanting to be part of the team,” Curtis wrote on his social media page; Curtis trains at Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas.

“After two weeks, they disappear as soon as Kopylov's turn comes and now they train together,” the popular middleweight explained, adding that it was a “bastard” on the part of the 13-3 Russian.

While Curtis hasn't provided any evidence that Kopylov sent those two unnamed fighters to his training camp to gain some insider information, it certainly wouldn't be the first time a story like this has made headlines.

Former UFC champion Jose Aldo once admitted to having spies in Frankie Edgar's camp before UFC 200 and more recently Ian Machado Garry claimed as much before his fight with Michael 'Venom' Page at UFC 303.

Chris Curtis vs Roman Kopylov takes place on the first UFC card of 2025

While Roman Kopylov has yet to respond to Curtis' claim, UFC fans certainly wouldn't complain if 2025 started with a 'bad blood' match, with the pair facing each other in just two weeks.

UFC Fight Night: Dern vs Ribas 2 is a surprisingly good card to welcome us in the new year, with a total of 14 fights currently scheduled for January 11, taking place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

UFC Fight Night: Dern vs Ribas 2 is one of only two events scheduled for January 2025, with UFC 311: Makhachev vs Tsarukyan set for the following week in LA.
