Sean Dyche admitted that he is confused about how his successor to Burnley, Vincent Kompany, ended up his role as Bayern Munich -Baas, even though he was banned with the Clarets.
Kompany led Burnley to a 19th place in the Premier League last season – eight points of safety – but only got a step on the Champions League side a few days later.
Since his arrival in Bavaria, Kompany has rejuvenated Bayern, whose 11-year-old Streak was stopped as champions by Bayer Leverkusen in the past term. The German giants at the top of the Bundesliga table with six points and reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League after bouncing Leverkusen in the last 16.
Dyche, who had a net spending of only £ 25 million during his time at Burnley, led them to finish at 35 points when they were banned in 2022.
In the meantime, Kompany spent £ 127 million on transfers in his two years at Burnley, but only knew 24 points in his last season in England.
Yet the Belgian coach still landed his enormous move to the Bundesliga that same summer, much to the surprise of Dyche.
The latter explained how Burnley was in a well of debts and admitted that he 'does not know' how Kompany was able to land his large money movement to Bayern.
Dyche said Talksport: 'So where the club was brilliant, they dealt with that promotion [up to the Premier League in 2014] In the right way.
“And the reason was, and I was involved, but I told them that they still paid out players of two years, three years earlier when they came to the Premier League. And I went: “You can't go on anymore”.
“I said, there must be more to it. Now you have to do something that means something. So they came in with it, built the training field, knocked, that first season went. I spent about nine million pounds to the team, which is really Farcical.
'But put the money in the club and the future of the club. And they assisted me. So we went on 35 points that season. People forget that.
'We went to Big Komps [Kompany]not? 24 [points]I think they have come. It has been £ 127 million and he got the Bayern track.
'Come on, I don't know how that works. I wish I did it. I wish I had left the club £ 127 million in debts and then got the Bayern track. Anyway, there is an interesting turn of life. '
Eight months after leaving Burnley, Dyche joined Everton in January 2023 and took over from Frank Lampard.
The toffees avoided the decline that season, but only improved to 15th place in 2023-24.
And in January of this year, Dyche was eventually fired by Everton, after he had won only three of their last 18 Premier League matches among the Englishman and had only been one point of the relegation zone.
