For years Sean O'Malley believed that he would surpass Conor -McGregor as the greatest superstar in the UFC.
Sean O'Malley may not have had an increase as McGregor van Ireland in his heyday as a meteorically, but the colorful UFC -Bantam weight has gathered the fan base since he got into the Octagon in 2017.
'Suga' soon became a household name in the UFC for his highlight-reel Knockouts and Swagger, which showed that he was one of the best in the world when he defeated former champion Petr Yan in 2022.
O'Malley's Star Power reached new heights after he had Aljamain Sterling to win the Bantamweight title in 2023.
Last September O'Malley thought he was on schedule to surpass McGregor as the #1 star of the UFC. After a loss for Merab Dvalishvili on UFC 306, the former champion realizes that his long -term dream to grow bigger than McGregor is out of reach.

Sean O'Malley doubts that he will be the big star as Conor McGregor
Prior to his rematch against Merab Dvalishvili on UFC 316, O'Malley admits that McGregor is at a different level of star.
“I have always put myself a bit,” I want to be as big as Conor … “” said O'Malley on the entire podcast.
'I want to do that [but] It is as if, I don't think I could be as big as Conor.
'He is only once in your life [character]”Said O'Malley about McGregor.
“As me, Conor was not necessarily [just a fighter]. It is clear that his skills are very high, but if it just goes around, such as entertainment, it is Conor [at #1] now. “
McGregor has not fought in the UFC since he broke his leg against Dustin Poirier in 2021.
Even outside the Achthoek, 'The Notorious' continues to dominate the headlines in the UFC world, whether it is about his business companies, claims on social media or political ambitions.
Sean O'Malley mentions the next superstar of the UFC
Now that McGregor is missing in action, O'Malley says that it is on UFC CEO Dana White to find the next best thing of the promotion.
The UFC has experienced a shortage of stars in recent years, but there are a few names that distinguish themselves from the hunter schedule.
O'MALLEY was asked outside of himself who could be the next big star of the UFC after McGregor.
“Paddy is definitely up there,” said O'Malley UFC Lightweight Paddy Pimblett.
“Ilia is definitely a huge star,” said O'Malley about the former UFC Vederweight champion Ilia Topuria.
Ilia Topuria is currently preparing for Charles Oliveira in the main event of UFC 317, where he tries to become a two -division champion such as Conor McGregor. The Spaniard returns to back-to-back knockouts from Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway on £ 145.
Paddy 'The Baddy' Pimblett is not far from a lightweight title fight itself, probably a victory away from a title chances after dominating Michael Chandler on UFC 314 in April.
Pimblett and Topuria have enormous support in their home country of England and Georgia/Spain, and both hunters are very tradable for the UFC with more than lifelong personalities.
