Despite a shutout loss for Dricus du Plessis on UFC 312, Sean Strickland has held on to his pound-for-pound UFC ranking.
Du Plessis scored a landslide victory against Strickland and destroyed his nose. 'Tarzan' showed his grit by resetting his nose half fighting, but his performance left a lot to be desired.
Former middleweight champion Luke Rockhold hit Strickland for 'B- out', and the Fanconsensus is that Strickland did not deliver its daring trash bin prior to the fight.

Sean Strickland drops one place at no. 15 in pound-for-pound list after UFC 312
According to the official UFC rankings, Strickland has fallen from no. 14 pound-for-pound men's hunter to no. 15. Another loss for Strickland or a victory of a Fringe P4P talent could completely push him.
UFC 312 winner du Plessis jumped in a place to No. 6 and caught up with Belal Muhammad. 'Stillknocks' has defended its middleweight title twice, while Muhammad has not defended his title since the beating of Leon Edwards on UFC 304.
Strickland also dropped one place in the middleweight rankings to number 2, so Nassourdine Imavov came to first place. Khamzat Chimaev, who has submitted Robert Whittaker to UFC 308, remains number 3, but the P4P ranking list of Strickland has MMA fans in weapons.
UFC fans stunned by Sean Strickland's pound-for-pound position
A panel of media members currently determines the UFC ranking. UFC CEO Dana White promises to solve the rankings with AI, but until that time fans will have to tolerate the rankings of the members, and they are not happy.

Fans should not simmer for too long over the ranking of Strickland, because the elite will wash middleweight over him. Imavov has overtaken him as the No. 1 Competer and Chimaev is reserved for the next title shot. There is also the potential of no. 6 Caio Borralho that reaches the top five, and in the first place Gregory Rodrigues gets his shot in the ranking at number 7 Jared Cannonier this weekend.
