Second Premier League side joins Yeremay Hernandez transfer race

Two Premier League clubs make summer transfer offers for the highly rated Spain U21 International Yeremay Hernandez.

Chelsea has already registered a strong interest in signing the talented 22-year-old winger, who this season has been in excellent club form for Deportivo La Coruna, and the blues will move quickly in the coming months.

Chelsea pushed hard to close a deal in the last days of the January transfer window, but their efforts were eventually blocked by the Galicians.

The final transfer offer submitted by Chelsea was around € 15 million, but Deportivo was determined to keep at least € 20 million, which is its full release clause.

As time at the beginning of 2025 sustained, rumors also indicated that the player would have rejected a rise, even if the clause was activated because he wanted to stay until the end of the season.

The primary reason behind his decision was to try the urge from Deportivo to La Liga Promotion of the Segunda Division in 2025.

Hernandez has already scored 11 league goals and placed on four assists, with Deportivo currently 11th in the table, with only nine league games to play in the regular season.

Chelsea will be on hold until the end of the campaign, with Enzo Maresca ready to make his move, because Deportivo is not expected to make the promotion -play -offs.

The calmness of Maresca about a deal seemed to make an exit clear with Deportivo that recognized the space that the Italian gave for Hernandez to concentrate on the season.

However, reports from Teamtalk.com indicate that Arsenal is now in the race, where the Gunners hope to seize the initiative, while Chelsea is forced to wait.

A possible bidding war will stimulate the exit allowance from Hernandez above its release clause and Deportivo will hope to take a big financial boost to help the club with a different Segunda campaign in 2025/26.
