Sesko ‘chooses Newcastle over Man Utd’ in shock transfer decision to Isak’s move

Benjamin Sesko has decided to become a member of Newcastle via Manchester United, according to reports.

The RB Leipzig striker is central to a fierce transfer battle between the Premier League clubs, in which both parties identify the 22-year-old as an important summer goal.

But it is Newcastle who reportedly won the war, according to reports in Slovenia.

Allegedly, Sesko has a men's agreement with Leipzig and they will not stand in the way if there is a suitable offer.

Both clubs have had conversations with the representatives of Sesko and it is clear that although Man Utd wants to sign him, it will not be a simple deal to do financially.

Sesko, who was also connected to Arsenal, scored 39 goals in 87 games for RB Leipzig since he joined Red Bull Salzburg two years ago.

It is understanding that Newcastle and Man Utd are expected to pay Leipzig more than £ 70 million plus add-ons.

But although reports in Slovenia said Sesko's chosen Newcastle, no formal decision was made.

Man Utd was considered his favorite destination, but Newcastle offers Champions League football and is ready to close the deal immediately.

Although the Red Devils do not have European football at all this season and have to take the time while negotiating a possible step.

The interest of Man Utd is led by director of Recruitment Christopher Vivell, who previously worked with Sesko in RB Salzburg and the 6ft 4 Forward described as the potential to become one of the world's top strikers.

And if Sesko does indeed become a member of the Tyneside outfit, leaves the door open for Newcastle to let Alexander Isak continue for what will certainly be a Premier League transfer record.

Isak was left sweating during his dream movement to Liverpool after the Premier League champions Newcastle Lowballed with an opening offer.

Liverpool had rejected a formal bid of £ 110 million by Newcastle, with a number of 10 million less than what they had offered informal last month.

Newcastle has put a whopping £ 150 million price tag on their valued assets Isak, which scored 23 Prem objectives last season.

Newcastle has made it clear that there will be no sale unless a suitable replacement is secured – and Sesko is the ideal man.

Manager Howe says that Newcastle will always try to do things “in the right way” when it comes to transfers.

He said to the mail: “In terms of trying to make players upset and all things like that, from my perspective, we can only talk about our behavior.

“We try to do things in the right way. By signing players is always complex. We just try to do what we think is good. I can't talk about other clubs, that's not me to say.”

The side of Arne Slot had hijacked the Newcastle movement for Hugo Ekitike, which they signed for £ 79 million from Eintracht Frankfurt last month.

Isak is supposed to insist on a move and has only trained in the former club Real Sociedad, after he has achieved the pre-season tour of the Magpies with an apparent thigh problem.

Sesko scored 21 goals in all competitions last season and has 16 goals in 41 senior performances for Slovenia.

He has drawn comparisons with Erling Haaland for his mix of height, pace and finishing and is seen by Newcastle as a ready-made replacement for Isak.

But Man Utd could be forced to go back to the drawing table in their search for a productive NO9.

Amorim's silk struggled bad for the goal last season and hoped that Sesko would be the last piece in a forward line of the new look.

Newcastle was worried about losing Sesko, so their attention shifted to Aston Villas Ollie Watkins this week.

Newcastle is also in conversation with Brentford to sign Yoane Wissa, but Sesko will now be the priority.

Sesko and Watkins formed the two-man shortlist of Man Utd, but Villa was not looking for the frontman of England this summer.

The future of Rasmus Hojlund remains unclear, where the DANE meets that he wants to stay and fight for his place.
