Benjamin Sesko was very happy to move to Manchester United and it seems that he already has a friend at the club, because a new signing made a huge sacrifice for the Slovenian
Benjamin Sesko was reunited with his favorite no. 30 shirt in Manchester United, after colleague -summer signing Diego Leon gave him the song. Sesko, 22, was unveiled in Old Trafford during the recent friendship of United against Fiorentina.
He arrived in a deal worth £ 66.4 million with potential add-ons of a maximum of £ 7.6 million. There will be a lot of pressure on Sesko, as well as colleague attackers Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
It has become clear that his new teammates are doing their best to make themselves feel at home. A star that went above and outside is Leon, who has ever given up his very first united shirt number to give it to the Slovenian international.
Leon, who arrived shortly after Cunha of Paraguayan Side Club Cerro Poreno, initially received the number 30 shirt when he came to the club. After Sesko arrived, the Young Left Back gave his song – despite wearing in friendly matches against West Ham United and Bournemouth – so that the attacker can be handed over his favorite shirt.
For Leon, his move to United is an important moment in his young career and it is likely that his first united shirt will mean a lot to him. His decision to renounce this and take the No. 35 shows his selflessness and the ability to see the greater whole instead.
Sesko has worn the No. 30 since 2020, when he played for RB Salzburg, before moving to RB Leipzig in the 2023-24 campaign. After his arrival on the red side of Manchester, he was paraded with jubilant United fans in Old Trafford, before his new side with Fiorentina 1-1.
Shortly after securing his move, Sesko did not contain his excitement. He told the official website of Manchester United: “It's just a historic club that is incredible. The team is great for me.
“It is getting better and that is why there are things that you bring there, you give this energy that you want to be part of. I think it is a great project in general, and I certainly can't wait to start.
“It's great. I can feel all the feeling that we are becoming a great family and it is a pleasure to be part of it. It feels good.
“The thing is it [the badge] Fits well and I look forward to playing a lot in it and representing the club in the best possible way. “
Big things will be expected from Sesko, who was also subject to enormous interest from Newcastle United in the summer and from Arsenal, until the North Londers chose to concentrate on Viktor Gyokeres instead.
Last season, Sesko contributed 21 goals and six assists in 45 performances in all competitions for Leipzig. He was especially impressive in the Champions League, where he gave four goals in eight performances.
