Sevilla 1-4 Barcelona: 10-man visitors edge closer to LaLiga top two

Barcelona moved in two points of Laliga leaders Real Madrid after a hard-fought 4-1 win to Sevilla on Sunday.

The side of Hansi Flick spent the last half hour in the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium with a man less after Fermin Lopez was sent for a bad challenge on Djibril Sow.

Robert Lewandowski gave the visitors a lead in the eighth minute and slid inside to stop the ball after he was found by the header of Inigo Martinez.

Sevilla, however, brought the game a minute later when Saul Niguez hit the offside trap before beating Ruben Vargas to finish.

Barcelona dominated the rest of the first half without reward, but recovered their lead shortly after the break.

As a replacement for the second 45 minutes, Lopez went home from the box after Pedri's agile intersection in the area.

Raphinha then passed the game nine minutes later Sevilla, collected the pass from Pau Cubarsi before he switches the ball on his right foot and found the lower corner.

But only five minutes after he continued, Lopez received his marsorders from the referee after a studs-up challenge to close a turbulent 17-minute camee.

Despite that setback, Barcelona scored their fourth of the game when replacement Eric Garcia Raphinha's inviting free kick past Orjan Nyland nodded.

Data Debrief: Barca is due to red fog

The side of Flick has found countless ways to win all season, with their display against Seville, which also proves their references for the LaLiga -Kroon after seeing the victory after Lopez's red card.

Lopez was indeed the second Barcelona player in the 21st century who was founded as a replacement (17 minutes in the game), score and was sent in a LaLiga match after Vitor Roque in Mendizorroza in February 2024 (13 minutes in the game).

But Barcelona was on its way thanks to the early opener of Lewandowski. He scored eight goals with his last eight shots on Doel in his last nine games in all competitions, and is the player who scored the most goals this season in the top five European competitions in all competitions (31).
