Sevilla offer to improve institutional relations with Barcelona

It is no secret that Barcelona and Sevilla have no great relationship at the institutional level, largely because of the events of the past two years. That was made clear earlier this season when Los Nervionsen officials did not attend regular festivities for the reverse fixture at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Company, but an olive branch now seems to have been expanded.

It is the Negreira case that ultimately led to the demolition of the relationship between Barcelona and Seville. The latter have been one of the most pronounced clubs about this issue, and this is not impressed by the Catalans, who continue to state that they are not guilty of misconduct with regard to their previous relationship with Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira, who the former VICE was chairman of the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA). Eventually they chose to unilaterally break their relationships with the Andalusian club.

Despite all this, Sevilla now seems willing to take steps to repair their relationships with Barcelona. According to Relo, they have invited the officials of this weekend's opponents to the Director's Box for the game in the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.

Last season's la Liga match, which was on the last match day (MD38) in the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan, was not attended by Laporta, where Barcelona vice-president Rafa Yuste was the best ranking officer to the club on that occasion represent. However, Sevilla has expanded the opportunity for Laporta to attend, and at this stage it must still be known whether he will make the trip to Seville.

Barcelona is expected to have representation in the director's box on Sunday, but it is still to see whether Laporta is there. If so, this can be the start of the two clubs that repair their relationship.
