Shawne Merriman has a huge praise for what Dana White and the UFC have succeeded in reaching in MMA.
Now that his next large card is coming up, he is pleased to continue the journey to make his company one of the most respected people in the Vecht game.
In an exclusive interview with Bloody Elbow, he explained: “Carl Seuermanutafa vs Tyrell Fortune – I'm really looking forward to seeing it. It's crazy, we are starting to get more selection framework.
“We believe that many of these guys can get the chance to go to the UFC if they have a line with us. We want to get so many hunters on the edge of that and many of those we believe, who are already capable, are state champions as amateurs and already have a next. That's the recipe for us.
“We are not trying to jump out of the gate with great name hunters, and I hate throwing other promotions under the bus. This is not an easy company; from the production side to the fighting side, there are many nuances that go in this industry.
“There is a lot of smoke and mirrors because everyone wants to be to the UFC next step. We do it in the right way, we continue to build.
“This is the fair truth. The UFC is the UFC because they have built the brand for 30 years, and to build the brand, you have to do things in the right way, with the right promotion, let people know who you are.
“So you have to build and get confidence from the fans. We want to be in the neighborhood for the long term, we want to be one of the most legitimate promotions in the country, and I think we will do that.”

While Merriman is dedicated to promote the stars of the future, he is also passionate about training himself.
After boxing with his uncles, who were professional hunters, and then honored his vessel with Randy Couture, the ex-buffalo Bills Superstar has an itch to compete that he has not yet been scratched.
With that in mind, he would keep the chance to put on and fight the gloves.
