Sheffield United 0-3 Hull City: Tigers claim shock victory at Bramall Lane to deny Blades Championship top spot

Hull City United Intensed Sheffield the chance to reclaim the first place in the championship with a shock 3-0 win in Bramall Lane.

The blades started the day in second place, one point behind leaders Leeds while Hull was one point on a drift in the relegation zone.

Matt Crooks led the road for the Tigers and shot in the opener in his first start since he came to the club (6).

Sheffield United had difficulty getting control of the game after going behind, but in the second half they thought they had found an equalizer by Tyrese Campbell. The 55th minute replacement, who replaced Andre Brooks, closed an escape to see the flag of the linesman immediately before offside.

In a dramatic turn of events, Hull countered the other end to double their lead by Matty Jacob, who was also introduced in the second half.

The blades kept pushing after the second set-back, but it only let Hull disappear again, this time Harrison Burrows changed the ball into his own net (88) to the defeat on a forgetful night in the pursuit of his side too seal for promotion.

Three points for Hull see them escape from the relegation zone to move to the 18th in the championship.

The result also serves as a boost for the promotion rivals of Sheffield United on the match of Monday evening between competition leaders Leeds and third placed Burnley, Live on Sky Sports.

It was a fast start for Hull that showed, but they showed some signs of vulnerability during the early fairs with goalkeeper Ivor Pandur focused on the corners. However, it was from one of those corners that Hull broke and the crowd of Bramall Lane silent.

Abou Kamara rode to the left and tried to cross a cross to Joseph, his effort was poorly released by Alfie Gilchrist, who kindly set up the ball for Crooks to wrap home from the edge of the area. Callum O'Hare will embrace a number of rejected opportunities, because his late runs almost gave the Hull area in the home team a lead, but he went wide wide.

The 19 crosses of Sheffield United in the first half did not dent Hull's confidence when they came from the break that was still ready to bring the game to the knives.

The introduction of Campbell yielded almost immediate results when he sustained a ball, helped by colleague -replacing Rhian Brewster to enter from the area. The offside flag, however, put parties in a decision where Sky Sports Commentator and former Sheffield defender Andy Hinchcliffe did not agree.

“He seems to time the run perfectly,” Hinchcliffe said on comment.

“It seems that McLoughlin played on Brewster, so it doesn't look like there is an obvious offside. Then the ball has flown in [by Brewster] And Campbell is not nearly offside. “

Hull used the opportunity to attack the other end and Drameh's cross within the area yielded results when Jacob extended his leg to further strengthen Hull's lead.

The third came when the last whistle signaled with tired legs that came in. Joao Pedro drove into the box and hit defenders before pulling a cross in the mixer. Burrows did not succeed in sorting out his legs and could only play the ball in his own net.
