This is the shocking moment when a footballer thrown at a teammate in an unexpected eruption of anger, which had to be stopped by another player.
The incident took place in a LABRA match between Real Valladolid and Getafe on Sunday and saw Valladolid Vice-Captain Luis Perez Juan Miguel Latasa Punching on the sofa of the replacements.
After Latasa was removed, he was subjected to an attack by Perez because he apparently refused to accept a handshake.
Perez, 30, moved Eray Comert – who sat between the couple – and hit Latasa with his fist.
Latasa, 24, stared easily in the room and did not broke his gaze before Comer a furious Perez got under control.
Perez was an unused replacement in a game that ended with his side that lost 4-0 and was rooted with only eight games at the foot of the table.
Valladolid – who are owned by the former Brazilian legend Ronaldo – are currently 10 points behind the 19th placed Las Palmas and 14 of the safety that only four games have won throughout the season.
Both players issued a joint statement on Monday to apologize for their actions.
They said: 'No sporting result or frustration can justify a lack of respect or the behavior that we shown on the bank yesterday.
'We want to apologize to our teammates, to the club and the fans.
“Our apologies to the fans without any excuse to justify our behavior and with the humility of those who have made a mistake and try to repair the damage caused.”
The duo added that they personally apologized with the rest of the team and accept every punishment of the club.
Real Valladolid also issued a club statement in which they convicted the behavior of the duo.
They added: 'We are deeply regretted by the image presented by our players.
“The frustration that the sports situation has forced us all to be converted into more dedication, a better attitude and improved performance, never in division and confrontation.”
