Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic wants to save one of the communities that helped him push to become a combat legend.
Stipe Miocic is considered by many to be one of the largest UFC hunters of all time after various decorated runs as the heavyweight title holder of the promotion. His victories over people like Daniel Cormier, Francis Ngannou, Junior Dos Santos and others still endure the test of time.
Miocic announced his retirement after a loss for Jon Jones at UFC 309 in November. As he looks ahead to the next chapters of his life, he remains a fan of combat sports and wants to make a difference in his community.
One of the most important chapters of Miocic's life was when he participated in the wrestling program of Cleveland State University before switching to MMA. His collegial athletic career helped to develop a strong foundation that he later used to dismantle some of the large heavyweights of the UFC of all time.
After announcing his MMA pension, Miocic focuses on saving the Cleveland State Wrestling program.

Stipe Miocic brings aware of the death of the wrestling program of Cleveland State
In a recent message to X, Miocic shared an emotional statement after recent news about his Alma Mater.
“I am sick for my stomach and deeply sad for these young men and coaches,” said Miocic. “One of the oldest sports at Cleveland State University is struggling. As a former wrestler at CSU, this program was a huge chapter of my life and formed me to the person I am today.
'I will always cherish what it gave me. My heart goes out to everyone who is affected by this decision. I hope there is still time to make a difference and save this incredible program. Let's save the program! “
Earlier this month, the athletic department of Cleveland State informed the wrestling team that they cut the program together with softball and ladies' golf. The university has been struggling financially for several years, according to a report from the Akron Beacon journal, which is an important reason for the cutbacks.

Stipe Miocic calls to save Cleveland State's wrestling program
The sports reductions of Cleveland State may be linked to the name, image and similar system that has seen advantages and disadvantages in university sports. Smaller schools such as Cleveland State are now climbing steep slopes to try to compete with larger division I athletic departments and universities.
Miocic made his stamp in Ohio like a golden gloves heavyweight boxing champion and a striking wrestler. He made his professional MMA debut in an Ohio-based promotion and would later make his first UFC walk in 2011.
While Miocic turns the page about his MMA career, he tries to increase the consciousness of the athletic cuts of Cleveland State in an attempt to save his wrestling program. It may be too late for CSU to turn the course, especially with the financial support of Miocic.
