Conor McGregor launched a seemingly random foul-mouthed tirade on social media moments after Khabib Nurmagomedov's rant about Irish MMA.
The undefeated former UFC lightweight champion was promoting his cousin Usman Nurmagomedov's Bellator title fight with Paul Hughes later this month as he tore into Irish MMA at large. He claimed that, barring exceptions like McGregor and Hughes, the nation has not produced many stars.
In contrast, he believes, Dagestan is pumping out top fighters at such a pace that top promotions are concerned about signing prospects for fear of being completely taken over by their fighters. And regardless of whether McGregor saw this outburst or night, he's not happy tonight.
Khabib Nurmagomedov tore Irish MMA apart in an intense tirade
The fight between Hughes and the younger Nurmagomedov has been billed by PFL as Ireland vs Dagestan 2. But the 29-0 UFC legend insists there is no rivalry between the countries as he believes his country is far superior when it comes to MMA goes.
“Brother, Ireland has no fighters, brother,” Khabib Nurmagomedov said in an interview with the PFL's social channel. “Let's be honest. How many fighters do you know from Ireland? Paul Hughes and Conor [McGregor]. And who else? There are no fighters, brother.
'Just come to Dagestan, you can understand. You know, so many organizations don't even sign Dagestan fighters because they're afraid that anyone can become a champion. Let's face it: Dagestan level of MMA here (raises arm high). But the Irish level is not even half of Dagestan's level.”

Whether Conor McGregor actually saw his old rival's video or not remains to be seen, but he certainly seemed excited when he went to X tonight. The Irishman appeared to attack an unknown enemy in a series of aggressive tweets just hours after Nurmagomedov.
Seemingly for nothing, he wrote, “And all those years licked the way the years had no foundation for yours anymore. Sickening things, now look at yours. You deserve exactly what is there for you and nothing.

“Nothing. Treacherous bums. The yellow teeth we call you. Pea brains in a cage. Panache = zero. Creativity = poop. What with = fart. Embarrassing to me.”
He followed this up by adding, “It's done that nothing has ever been done. #NotOneThing,” and warns an unknown rival: “Never say my name, you are not on my level. We are not the same. I don't represent you as one of you. I represent greatness… Hold the spit bucket of my spit bucket holders. That's your level.”
