Six records Arsenal broke in UCL demolition of PSV

Arsenal hit six records because they produced a seven -star display against PSV last night.

The men of Mikel Arteta have battered the Dutch kings 7-1 in the first stage of their Champions League Last 16 collision in Eindhoven.

Martin Odegaard helped himself a brace with Jurrien Timber, Ethan Nwaneri, Mikel Merino, Leandro Trossard and Riccardo Calafiori too.

Arsenal now has one foot in the quarters, where a fight against Real Madrid or Atletico is waiting.

But after they reached seven PSV yesterday, the Gunners also recorded six records in the trial.

The pounding result meant that Arsenal was the very first team that scored seven goals in one knockout competition for Champions League.

All goals of Arsenal were evenly spread over the side.

And it also meant that they became the very first side that had six different target scorers from their own goals-in a Champions League-Knock-out match away from home.

Arsenal is now the fastest team that also has five removal goals in the Champions League, with Trossard's strike for 5-1 in the 48th minute.

In the meantime, the result meant that Arsenal has now won five consecutive Champions League matches for the first time since the 2005/06 season -in the same tournament -.

Before defeating PSV, the Gunners drove past Girona, Dinamo Zagreb, Monaco and Sporting Lisbon.

And they will be sure that they will expand it to six in the return bone at the Emirates.

Finally, the goal of Nwaneri saw that he became the third-year-old goal scorer in a knockout match of Champions League at the age of 17 and 384 days.

The record was determined by Bojan Krkic when he saved before Barcelona in 2008 at 17 years and 217 days.

And it saw Nwaneri fall just behind Jude Bellingham, who scored for Borussia Dortmund in 2021 of 17 years and 289 days.

The newest Sterret from Arsenal was set up for his goal by fellow child Myles Lewis-Skelly.

And it meant that two English teenagers had combined a Champions League goal for the first time in the history of the competition.
