Skinner signs new two-year Man Utd contract

Marc Skinner has signed a two -year contract extension with Manchester United.

Skinner's current contract would expire at the end of this season, but he will stay on for another two years, with his new deal until June 2027 with the option for another 12 months.

The 42-year-old took the lead in 2021 and has left 119 games in all competitions and won 77 of them. He has a profit percentage of 64.71%.

Skinner also led United to their first great honor and won the FA Cup last year.

He had also led them to the FA Cup final in the previous year and the Red Devils will be confronted with Manchester City in the last four of this season on 13 April.

In the Super League for Women on average 2.08 points per match under Skinner, and won 53 of their 84 games under him. They scored 179 goals during his term of office and admitted 75.

“It has been an absolute privilege to serve as a head coach for this fantastic football club for the past four years, and I am delighted to extend my time in the role for at least two years,” Skinner said.

“We are building a young, hungry team with the aim of consistently challenging for further trophies.

“There is more hard work in front of the bow, including this season, but the players and employees have shown all their determination to succeed, and I look forward to taking the next steps in our journey together.”

The Red Devils are currently third in the WSL this season, level on points with second placed Arsenal and six points behind leaders Chelsea with four games.

They have the best defense in the competition, after they have admitted only nine goals this season, while they are on track to qualify for the second time in their history for the Women's Champions League, which are second under the Skinner in 2022-23.
