According to the latest report from Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth, Manchester United is expected to open negotiations with Brentford this week with regard to the signing of Bryan Mbeumo.
Reports indicate that Mbeumo is interested in member of Old Trafford, which United has given a boost. The 25-year-old attacker has long been admired by the club and they believe that he fits perfectly in the tactical system of Rúben Amorim.
However, United is not only in the race for Mbeumo, because several Premier League clubs are also interested.
With the uncertainties surrounding the futures of Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes, United wants to quickly perform on the transfer market to give Amorim more time to integrate new players before the start of the new season.
Brentford is open to listening to offers for both Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa, but are not in a hurry to sell. Internally, the club believes that if an offer meets the valuation of Mbeumo, he could make a switch to a larger club this summer.
Mbeumo is appreciated on more than £ 60 million, and although his contract is left for another two years (another year plus an optional extension of one year), this Brentford gives a strong negotiating position.
