
Arne Slot has expressed his opinion about reports that Trent Alexander-Arnold will add to Real Madrid this summer on a free transfer.
The Liverpool contract of Alexander-Arnold expires at the end of the season, and it was unveiled during the international break that he concludes with an agreement to leave his boy's club to move to the Spanish capital.
Slot has now responded to the news prior to Wednesday's Merseyside Derby against Everton, with Liverpool who wants to bounce back from successive losses to PSG and Newcastle.
Speaking at Alexander-Arnold said Slot: 'Unfortunately, his situation is that he is injured. For him this means that he is fully focused on his recovery. We try to help him come back. We have never been focused on those conversations. '
Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk are also approaching the end of their own deals, but Slot refused to criticize one of his star trio that all have to do with uncertain future.
Asked if he was worried that Alexander-Arnold could leave within a few weeks, Slot replied: 'No. It is a situation that is now eight or nine months and I think all these players have achieved so well for us. '
Slot did not reveal when Alexander-Arnold was able to return from his injury setback after the right Rug Liverpool's Carabao Cup Final League missed due to the fitness problem he had picked up against PSG.
