One defender was once praised by Liverpool -Baas Arne Slot for his Champions League version and this summer the books of Manchester United could end up via a tree transfer
Manchester United is interested in recruiting towering Bayer Leverkusen Center-back Jonathan Tah on a free transfer this summer. The 6ft3 in German received a healthy praise from the boss of arch rivals Liverpool, Arne Slot, for his Champions League exploits last year.
After having admitted a Sub-PAR 51 goals in the Premier League this season, an area that wants to improve the bottom of Ruben Amorim on half of the transfer when the transfer window runs open, the heart of the defense.
While Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt were purchased for substantial costs during the last summer window, the Amorim system requires a trio of competent center halves. The now established Ayden Heaven and Tyler Fredricson have been called in recent competitions such as young, inexperienced representatives, with injuries that are aware and depth.
A name with which the Red Devils are connected is Leverkusen's Tah – a steadfast colossus of a defender who helped the unbeaten Bundesliga campaign of his team previous term. The 29-year-old German is from a contract this summer, and several lovers throughout Europe, including United, swarms for the man for whom Reds Boss Slot has changed and praised his line-up after an outing Champions League.
According to Sky Sports, with the current deal of Tah ending and a new one not yet signed, Amorim's United is one of the many teams that the defender admires.
It is also thought that both Barcelona and Real Madrid have a genuine interest in recruiting tah, but every movement to the well -camp can be hindered by financial issues.
If Tah arrives in the Premier League, he would again be opposed to Slot's Liverpool, with whom he and Leverkusen collided with last year in the Champions League.
During this institution of November 2024 -a group stage match that ended in a 4-0 Liverpool -Thrashing -was that slot complemented Tah, and even admitted that, despite a convincing victory, he was howling his team to better deal with the middle back.
“I think Tah, who is really a good defender and one of the best defenders in Germany … perhaps the best defender in Germany, perhaps more likes to play a goalkeeper, someone who is in the middle,” Slot said.
“We chose to play Lucho [Luis Diaz] More from the left or midfield and maybe afterwards surprise him with runs at the back – not only he but in general. “
The Red Devils are currently rolling in the bottom half of the top flight and have a potential Europa League victory as their only means to protect European football in the next term. Yet Amorim is not afraid that there is a lack of wanting recruits in the transfer market.
“It's Manchester United,” Amorim said when he was asked about the attraction that his club has in the transfer window. “What I feel is that there are many players who want to play for our club.
“I know that if you watch our club at the moment, with all the problems with the staff and the people who go, coach and the results change, it seems a bit of a problem.
“But we have a clear idea. That is the easiest part to explain to a player. Then it is Manchester United. Everyone wants to play for Manchester United.”
