Liverpool -Baas Arne Slot previously rejected the fears during the summer expenditure after the club posted a loss of £ 57 million compared to last season's accounts.
The Reds announced the EYE opening figures on Friday after they were hit by the impact of not in the Champions League last season, with their media income fall by £ 38 million to £ 204 million.
Liverpool saw their commercial income rise by £ 36 million to £ 308 million when they finished third and won the Carabao Cup, but still could not make a profit.
The club made only one signing this season when Federico Chiesa arrived for around £ 10 million from Juventus and there are now concerns about Liverpool's assets to splash the money this summer after placing enormous losses.
However, Liverpool does not run the risk of breaking the PSR regulations of the Premier League and will still be able to invest in the team at the end of the season, especially with the chance that at least one of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Annold will leave the club.
After he was asked about Liverpool's transfer to spend this summer at his press conference prior to last weekend against Manchester City, Slot insisted that the club would invest more than this season after identifying the areas they want to strengthen.
“We look at every position and we look at the team,” said the Dutchman. “We said this many times last summer, we didn't do much because we – Richard [Hughes, Liverpool’s sporting director]Me and all other people involved – just wanted to know how these players worked with me, the different manager.
“Now we have a very good idea of that, and I think it is clear to you that I will not tell you what positions we prefer, but it is clear that we have assessed the team, we have assessed what we think we can improve, and that is where we try to go in the summer.”
There should be a much improved situation for the finances of Liverpool next year, if they were allowed to hold their lead at the top of the Premier League and go far in the Champions League.
Slot admitted that the club was confronted with a crucial period that was discussed when they offered to end the season with as much silverware as possible and hope to guarantee the future of Salah, Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold.
“It's quite an important two or three months to go,” he said. “And we have a few contract situations to take care of, so there is a lot of work in the background, but my most important focus is on the current team.”
