Liverpool boss Arne Slot does little spirit to the Premier League table, because instead he switches the focus to an upcoming European draw with Paris Saint-Germain.
The Reds defeated Newcastle United, who were on Wednesday from top scorer Alexander Isak, 2-0 in Anfield.
Dominik Szoboszlai continued his fine shape with Alexis Mac Allister who also scored for Liverpool, while the team of Slot stuck 13 points, free from second place Arsenal, who could only sign with Nottingham Forest.
Slot looked up from the stands while he served the first match of a two-match Touchline suspension after his red card against Everton earlier this month.
When asked for his thoughts about the title race, Slot told TNT Sports: “There is still a long way to go, 10 games. Now, in the month of March, I think we only play one Premier League match.”
Indeed, Liverpool only plays Lowly Southampton on March 8, with that match sandwiched between a two-legged Champions League-equal game with PSG, which are one of Europe's form teams.
Liverpool will then meet Newcastle again in the EFL Cup final on March 16, before a break of two and a half weeks before they compete against Everton on 2 April.
“We have the [EFL Cup] Final, of course, the international break and two very important matches against PSG, “Slot continued.
“We are not focused on the long term. I know, and the players who also look at the French league, how difficult a game Paris Saint-Germain will be.
“They are probably in the same form as we do. They hardly lose any. They win games with large margins and also lead the competition with a margin.
“It will be a difficult task for both teams. Now the players have two days off, so on Saturday we focus on PSG, more than the competition table in the Premier League.”

Liverpool now gets a chance of 98.7% to win the Premier League title by the OPTA Supercomputer, and although they were sometimes made by Newcastle, the competition statistics were enormously in favor of the Reds.
Newcastle had only three shots, worth a combined 0.21 expected goals, while Liverpool had a total of 12 attempts worth 1.56 xg.
The Magpies are Winless in their last 17 Premier League matches against Liverpool (D5 L11), since a 2-0 victory in December 2015 under Steve Mclararen.
Slot, however, does not feel that this competition means something for next month's collision at Wembley.
“I don't think that means that much,” said the Dutchman.
“I saw another Newcastle tonight than I saw a few months ago when we played them there. I don't know if that is for a reason; I normally see them press 4-5-1 and now they press 4-4-2, so maybe they do things a little differently.
“Isak was not there, Joelinton was not there, so I think we can expect something else in a few weeks. But we will probably also be a little better for our fifth game in 15 days.”
