A laser -oriented Arne Slot says that he does not care when or where Liverpool wins the Premier League title – and his only care is beating Leicester next Sunday.
The Reds can be crowned champion next weekend as Arsenal losing in Ipswich and they win in the King Power Stadium, after Slot's men scored an 89th minute winner to beat West Ham on Sunday.
And Slot says that he is not stunned by talking about his team that closes, nor does he suffer from the hanging announcement that Virgil van Dijk has extended his stay in the club for two years.
“I don't care where we win,” said the Dutchman, whose side won through goals from Van Dijk and Luis Diaz after Andy Robertson had admitted his own goal of the 86th minute to bring West Ham level.
'We know we have to win two more games. Who has been difficult enough in 32 times. Win first two and that is the only thing we have to concentrate on and improve more and more to give us a better chance to win. What I saw is for the first time in 11 games that Leicester scored two, so that they are more confident.
'We still have to win two games, so we have to concentrate on that. And in the meantime a contract extension can be done, but my full focus is on Leicester and Virgil is also. '
As Mail Sport reported last week, Van Dijk is about to follow Mohamed Salah when signing a new two -year deal at the club.
Slot also said that striker Darwin Nunez missed the game due to illness – although the Uruguayan was seen, was in the stands.
In the meantime, West Ham -Baas Graham Potter said that this was the best performance of his term of office.
The Hammers gave Liverpool an almighty fear and would have earned a point if they were to hang at the end, in which Reds goalkeeper Alisson made several strong stops on 1-0 to keep his side in a winning position.
“The achievements were really positive, probably the best since we have been here,” said Potter, whose side is now 17th. 'The balance between defense and attack was good at a top team in an emotional environment.
“Liverpool started really well. We showed resilience that has not always been there and grew in the game.
'We don't have points wise the points we would like, but you have to zoom out and see what we have had to deal with. But what we have done is being competitive and have made an attacking improvement.
'We have to do more to get the results we can get. Fine lines, could have had three points against Everton, but had admitted late, three could have had Newcastle. '
