This week Liverpool boss Arne Slot has sustained an injury anxiety for the crucial Champions League collision of the team in Paris Saint-Germain this week after Cody Gakpo was absent in the training.
The Reds have a tough task ahead of the last 16 after they are linked to the Dangerous Ligue 1 champions managed by Luis Enrique, despite winning the classification of the competition.
Slot was ready to be without four players for the huge game with Joe Gomez, Conor Bradley and Tyler Morton all for the knockout tie in the Parc des Princes.
But now the Dutchman still has a concern to deal with after Gakpo was missing at 20 Outfield players who could be seen in open training in the club's complex on Tuesday.
The players of Slot have received a longer rest period for this match that were not involved in the FA Cup this weekend, after their exit against Championship Side Plymouth in the final round.
The former boss of Feyenoord has no worries that go into play while things are outstanding, although younger Amara Nallo is not available by suspension after his broadcast against PSV in the last match of the group phase.
The Reds are also confronted with a potential disciplinary issue, with Ibrahima Konate, Andy Robertson and Harvey Elliott all one yellow card away from picking up a suspension of one game.
In the meantime, Alexis Mac Allister has already served a ban on one match for the same infringement, but it is now threatening to pick up another after earning four bookings.
There are still potentially four games before these yellow cards expire, because they are still in the game until the end of the quarterfinals. This issue can also influence Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch, Luis Diaz, Kostas Tsimikas and Darwin Nunez, all of whom are two cards away from a ban.
Liverpool will focus on the task that must be performed against a talented side with stars such as Ousmane Dembele, who this season has six goals in the Champions League and three goals in so many competitions. Slot, however, has urged that his team is not afraid of PSG or another top team in Europe.
“We are afraid of PSG? We don't fear anyone,” he said. “But I am impressed by their quality, they are on an upward curve that are a bit like ours at the moment. I don't think Liverpool, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, Real Madrid, these types of clubs are not afraid of opponents. But we certainly respect them and there is a reason for that.”
