This season, Arne Slot has saved in his use of new Liverpool that Federico Chiesa signed, but seems to have an idea of how he can strengthen his team in the summer
Liverpool -Manager Arne Slot hinted to introduce extra weapons in his team, and it seems that the Reds are being done early this summer. The activity is designed to ensure that the manager is able to rotate with confidence in the next term and to avoid the mini slump, so that his team left the Champions League and lost the Carabao Cup final.
The team from Slot was rotated to the Premier League title, but there were times when it seemed as if they could be on track for several trophies. However, that would not be, with a lack of depth and clear fatigue of first teamers who Liverpool Dear Costed, as a lock seemed reluctant to appeal to the new man Federico Chiesa and some other Rand stars.
“As we all know, we went out of the cup in Plymouth, and we lost against PSV (in the competition phase of the Champions League), which was no longer an important game,” said Slot. “And I think I made six replacements against Paris Saint-Germain, where the extra time was not our best period of the game.
“If I look at the way we think about next season and our team, these are things I think of. I think we can find one or two extra weapons that this team does not have.”
Those first weapons look like full-back, where the Reds stood with a few questions earlier this season. Jeremie Frimpong is about to have a £ 30 million relocation from Bayer Leverkusen, while conversations continue to progress about a Swoop for Milos Kerkez van Bournemouth.
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson, the full-backs that the Champions League final of Liverpool started under Jurgen Klopp in 2018, 2019 and 2022, continued to play this period regularly. Alexander-Arnold will not be in the club next season, after he has confirmed his plans to leave when his contract ends.
Robertson regularly played with the left, despite the fact that he started to show some cracks, with Kostas Tsimikas that rarely trusted in larger games. On the right side, the deputy Conor Bradley of Alexander-Arnold had a hard time with injuries, which means that Curtis Jones and Jarell Quansah have played in an unknown role.
Bradley, however, doesn't go anywhere. The International Northern Ireland has signed a new long -term deal on Anfield and will compete with Frimpong for a starting point for the next term.
When asked what he wants to achieve after signing his extension, Bradley said: “To play even more games, but also to win more trophies. I think the whole point of football is clear to win trophies and be successful.
“So the more of them we can win, the better it will be for me and the whole team. Hopefully, if we can keep doing that, it will be at the club in the coming years.”
