Data Debrief: Spain chases France again
Only twice did France admitted two goals in the opening of half an hour of matches under Deschamps, and Spain has been responsible for both occasions, also in their semi -final of the Euro 2024.
And it is the first time that Les Bleus has admitted five goals in one match in one match since 12 March 1969 against England (5-0).
In the meantime, Spain has scored at least three goals against France for the first time in the official competition and it is the first time they have scored five since June 1949 in a friendly in Paris (5-1).
France bravely fought back and almost forced extra time, but they could not end the winning series of La Roja. The side of Luis de la Fuente has not been lost since March 2023 when they were beaten 2-0 by Scotland in qualifying for Euro 2024.
