Spanish Football Federation confirm new date for postponed Valencia-Real Madrid fixture

In early November, Real Madrid's La Liga match against Valencia was postponed due to the devastation caused by storm DANA in the Valencian community. It means the match will be played at a later date and while there were doubts about exactly when that would be, these have now been cleared up.

The match was originally planned to take place on January 2, although the Association of Spanish Footballers (AFE) was against this. It was then proposed to play the match 24 hours later (3rd at 9pm CET), and this date and time has now been approved by the Spanish Football Federation.

This confirmation means that Valencia and Real Madrid will both move their Copa del Rey ties. They play Eldense and Deportiva Minera respectively on the weekend after their La Liga encounter, although it is now more likely that those matches will take place on Monday January 6.
