“Sporting corruption” – La Liga president Javier Tebas takes aim at Barcelona

Javier Tebas, president of La Liga, has never publicly bent the criticism of Barcelona or Real Madrid, and he has done that again in recent days.

Tebas is one of the greatest critics of the European Super League, which is supported by the two clubs. On every occasion he convicted the planned competition, and according to the sport he has now done this again. On this occasion he focused on Real Madrid President Florentino Perez, while also explaining why the tournament would be harmful to La Liga.

“The Super League comes from an A22 company. Really behind which is not Real Madrid as a club, but Florentino Pérez, his president. He is the one who leads it. There was a statement by the CJeu, who condemn UEFA and Fifa of dominant position, but it must be analyzed well.

“In Europe there are more than 40 professional competitions, more than 75,140 employees, more than 68,000 players and audiovisual income of 20,000 million that are distributed, and this is at risk. If the Super League was implemented in Spain, we would earn € 1.16 billion less, 32%.”

Tebas also spoke about the Negreira case, which is silent in the media in recent months, but is still being investigated by the relevant authorities. The chef of La Liga believes that Barcelona is guilty of misconduct.

“We are personal and we are going to the end. In my opinion there is sporting corruption. I already said it. Referees were not bought, but if they tried to influence the promotions of referees. It is corruption.”

Since the case of Negreira broke more than two years ago, Barcelona has sustained that they have not committed misconduct. For now, the authorities still have to decide whether this attitude is right or wrong.
