Raheem Sterling will leave Chelsea this summer after having spent a year on loan in Arsenal with a number of clubs interested in giving the veteran a chance
Raheem Sterling has offered two new escape routes while he wants to protect a relocation from Chelsea this summer. Local rivals Fulham and Serie A champions Napoli could now be the candidates for his signature, amidst previously reported interest of Juventus and Bayer Leverkusen.
Sterling, 30, has two more years about his deal in Chelsea, but little future at Stamford Bridge. The former Star of Manchester City was omitted from Enzo Maresca's first team plans a year ago before he sealed a loan movement to Arsenal.
The stay of the winger in the Emirates was eventually a failed, because Sterling could not confirm his presence in the side with volatile opportunities from the bank. The veteran only made 17 Premier League performances and scored only one goal in all matches for the Gunners.
And now Sterling has to find a new club again if he hopes to find minutes in 2025/26. The holder of 82 England caps is said to have been offered to Napoli in recent days.
The side of Antonio Conte is on the market for a left wing player and earlier in January did not succeed in signing Alejandro Garnacho. It is claimed that Sterling has taken the summer shortlist from the club alongside Real Sociedad's Takefusa Kubo and Bologna Vooruit than Ndoye.
The Telegraph reports that Sterling is one of a list of candidates for Fulham to add to the Marco Silva team. However, the cottagers are not going to make a movement until later in the window.
The West -London rivals of Chelsea want to strengthen broadly and have one eye on a return for Arsenal star Reiss Nelson after his loan. However, Sterling has also been discussed with his experience that turns out to be attractive.
Fulham would offer an option for Sterling to prevent unrest and at the same time offer Premier League football. But it seems that the club is willing to be patient.
“I as a manager and all managers, they would rather have completed the team in this phase of the preseason,” Silva recently admitted
“So far it is not possible. And I understand the fans. But what I can tell is that we work hard, we have not yet started in terms of signing sessions. But we have a lot of things to do in this market.”
