Daniel Sturridge was briefly thrown away during his Live Sky Sports performance on Sunday after a fire alarm went in the middle of the broadcast.
The former striker was caught halfway through the sentence in view of the confrontation between two of his old clubs, Chelsea and Liverpool.
The 35-year-old said: “[Chelsea] Had people like Didier Drogba, Nicolas Anelka and Andriy Shevchenko.
“We are talking about some of the biggest strikers in the history of the game …”
Sturridge was then cut off by host Kelly Cates as a fire alarm cut by the Stamford Bridge Studio.
Cates explained: 'We just have to point out people we don't just ignore the fire alarm here.
“It's just a test, they have already announced it, in case the microphones pick it up.”
Sturridge, who continued to exist during the short interruption, smiled and nodded before he continued his analysis alongside colleague experts Roy Keane and Jamie Redknapp.
The former international in England added: 'It has clearly been one up and down season, as everyone was aware.
'They have had injuries to crucial players in the team, and how they performed statistically this season was almost last year.
“So I wouldn't say it was a terrible year, but I think it would be expected that they would perform better on the field.
'The versions are not entirely there, football is not entirely what it should be like, but I think … they will improve in the future.
“It takes time, nowadays managers sometimes don't get as much time as they earn.”
