Szoboszlai appears to aim brutal dig at Guler following Nations League defeat

Dominik Szoboszlai seemed to focus a pointed excavation on a Real Madrid star after a defeat in the UEFA Nations League on Sunday evening.

The midfielder of Liverpool was unable to prevent Hungary's 3-0 defeat by Turkey in the night, which ensured promotion for the UEFA Nations League A with the victory.

During the match, Szoboszlai seemed to collide with Turkey and Madrid star Arda Guler, who had found the back of the net earlier in the night.

A photo that quickly started circulating social media showed Guler who put his finger against his mouth and apparently told Szoboszlai to be quiet while fighting about a decision in the game.

Shortly thereafter, the photo was placed on Instagram by a Hungarian Sports Canal, with the caption: “Arda Guler told Dominik Szoboszlai to be quiet.”

Fans with eagle eyes quickly saw that Szoboszlai had left a cryptic remark in the post, but quickly deciphered the likely meaning behind the message.

According to Transfertmarkt, that is the exact amount of minutes that Guler played for Madrid during the 2024-25 campaign.

For comparison: Szoboszlai played for 2,887 minutes in midfield for Liverpool.

Since he came to Madrid from Turkish giant Fenerbahce in 2023, Guler has trouble nailing a starting spot in the midst of the abundance of attacking talent on the side.

Although he made 31 performances in all competitions for the Spanish giants, only six of them came as in LaLiga – where Carlo Ancelotti preferred to use his impact of the bank.

His national teammate and Inter Milan star Hakan Calhanoglou even came forward and recently called Guler to earn more minutes before the side.

He said: “I don't know what his situation is at Real Madrid, so I don't want to get too involved in this situation, because he finally knows more, although of course I want and believes that he deserves to play more minutes.”

In the meantime, Turkey -Baas Vincenzo Montella said: 'He has improved much in terms of attitude and character. He has learned to fight and fight, and he is here with us because he has exceptional talent. “

In the meantime, Szoboszlai has published 40 performances in all competitions for the Reds and at that time offers seven goals and five assists.

Prior to the international break, the Merseyside giants endured a hesitant form after the suffering of defeats by PSG and Newcastle.

Szoboszlai will hope that he can help the side of Arne Slot to turn their fortune after the break when they will organize Rivals Everton in a Premier League collision.

As it looks now, the Reds are currently 12 points clearly at the top of the table and are at a moving distance from the sealing of a historical league title.
