Liverpool -star Dominik Szoboszlai continues to support Milos Kerkez while left an Anfield movement for the defender to leave.
Kerkez was impressed by the draw of Bournemouth in Tottenham, with its deep cross landing perfect for Marcus Tavernier to open the score. The defender was active on social media after implementation, so that colleague Hungary had to answer international Szoboszlai with Hart and Emojis.
Fans of Liverpool have long hoped that their Hungarian star will be able to convince his international teammate to move to Anfield. Not only that, but Reds transfer chief Richard Hughes helped to bring Kerkez to the Premier League to start when the defender came to Bournemouth in 2023 from AZ.
The answer to the last message from Kerkez was a telling, with calls from “agent Szoboszlai” and more direct supplications for the 21-year-old to move to Anfield. A move in January did not come out, despite a cryptic message from the defender, but things can go faster in the summer.
“I am talking on the field,” Kerkez wrote in January after scoring in the victory of Bournemouth's Premier League at Newcastle, some read it as a preference to concentrate on his work instead of actively requesting further speculation about his future – not that the speculation has stopped, note.
Left back seems to be a priority area for Arne Slot and Liverpool. Even if right back Alexander-Arnold is leaving this summer, Conor Bradley has shown that he is a competent substitute, but things look less encouraging on the other flank.
Andy Robertson is now 31 years old and has sometimes shown this season that he may not be able to consistently repeat the highlights of his early Liverpool career. Efforts have been made to form Kostas Tsimikas as his heir, but the Greek international has struggled himself when they have had opportunities to audition.
While Liverpool recovered from going back to Southampton to maintain their title deposits, the hope of Bournemouth became a blow to them in the Champions League of next season. The opener of Tavernier was succeeded by a goal from Evanilson to use the Cherries 2-0 in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, only for Pape Sarr and Son Heung-Min to ensure that the loot was shared.
The side of Andoni Iraola is now sitting in the ninth, although they are still only three points in a fifth place that could still be enough for the qualification of the Champions League. Newcastle was the newest side to climb above them and did this with a 1-0 win over West Ham on Monday evening.
“We lost something in the last few games,” said Iraola about his Bournemouth team, who organizes Brentford next time. “We perform well and have good moments, but we don't win and large teams find ways to win.”
