Arne Slot says that he would be “surprised” if Trent Alexander-Arnold could be seen in Liverpool's Carabao Cup Semi-final second stage against Tottenham, Live on Sky Sports, after the defender wounded against Bournemouth on Saturday.
Alexander-Arnold was forced with a muscle injury during the second half of the 2-0 victory of Liverpool in the Vitality Stadium.
Liverpool host Tottenham on Thursday, looking for a shortage of 1-0 first leg.
In his press conference after the game, Slot said: “He (Trent) asked me if he could get off and then went down.
“He felt something, I can't tell you exactly what it is, because it is only now an hour after it happened, but it is never a good sign if the player asks for a replacement.
“It would surprise me if he played on Thursday, but let's hope he will be back as soon as possible.”
Mo Salah's Double ensured that Liverpool strengthened their place at the top of the Premier League table and opened a nine points gap on the top.
“It was the game we expected,” Slot added. “They (Bournemouth) are so intense, they keep running and keep fighting every second. I said before the game, we were 3-0 in Anfield during the break and they kept going. We had to go to the top of our skills and necessary happiness To win this game.
