TAA only focused on injury comeback amidst Madrid speculation, says Robertson

Andrew Robertson insists that Trent Alexander-Arnold is exclusively aimed at his recovery of a single injury, despite constant speculation that connects him with a switch to Real Madrid.

Alexander-Arnold's contract in Anfield ends at the end of the season and he was tipped heavily to make the switch to the Spanish giants on a free transfer.

The International of England missed the EFL Cup defeat of Newcastle United with an ankle injury, which also ruled him out of the Merseyside Derby victory over Everton in midweek.

And Robertson, who is adamant, no one is wiser about his future, believes that the attention of his fellow Full-Back has been established Puur to return to the fitness for the last phases of this season.

“Trent's head is not great because he is injured,” said Scotland's skipper. “He hates to be injured. None of us enjoy being injured, but it hurts a little more. That is all he is focused on.

“It is impossible for me to say that we have not seen all the noise and everyone who comments on it. But for us our focus is on him to get fit and healthy again.

“As soon as he does that, what happens, will happen. Nobody knows that yet. People can talk and speculate, but for us we want Trent back very quickly.”

Liverpool is 12 points free from second place Arsenal at the Premier League summit, prior to Sunday's collision with Fulham in Craven Cottage.

The Reds only require 13 points of their last eight games to land their second title in six years, but Robertson knows that the track is far from ready.

“You talk about the 12 points, but we are talking about the next three points,” he said. “Every game gets bigger for us. Every time we win three points, the gap gets bigger for us.

“We have eight games left. Every time we pick up three points, it brings us closer where we want to be. But we are still a long way away.”
