John Fury ignites on-stage brawl with Darren Till after the ex-UFC star suggested Tommy has ‘the IQ of a loaf of bread’

Former UFC title challenger Darren Till returns to action in a few months; not in the MMA octagon, but in the boxing ring against reality TV star and professional boxer Tommy Fury.

But two months before they finally clash in the boxing ring, the two British martial arts stars almost came to blows earlier today after John Fury decided to throw a bottle of water over the ex-UFC fighter.

John Fury sparks a brawl during the press conference between Tommy Fury and Darren Till

Former UFC superstar Darren Till has taken a break from MMA to quickly venture into the world of exhibition boxing. His debut fight earlier this year ended in an unusual brawl after his opponent feigned injury just minutes into the second round.

Despite the controversial ending to that fight, 'The Gorilla' is keen to put on the boxing gloves again and will face Tommy 'TNT' Fury in the main event of MF & DAZN X Series 20 in January 2025.

A few hours ago the press conference for Tommy Fury vs Darren Till took place; although it was a rather boring and creepy affair, at least we got some entertainment towards the end.

For the most part, the event was fun and respectful; that was until Till suggested he could end the fight with a high kick, prompting John Fury to join in, calling the Liverpoolan 'a disgrace to his city' and a 'pig's eye'.

To be fair, Till accepted that he wasn't exactly the nicest of people, although it wasn't until he suggested Tommy had “the IQ of a loaf of bread” that John snapped.

As words were exchanged on both sides, the elder statesman launched a bottle of water across the desk – over KSI and Ben Davies – at the former UFC welterweight title challenger.

Security was forced to intervene, with Darren Till attempting to walk around the desk and throw down, “What are you going to do?!” with both enraged Furys.

Darren Till responds to the row at the press conference as he sends an ominous message to Fury

Via Fight Hub TV, Darren Till addressed the Fury family as he gave his immediate reaction to the altercation at the press conference.

“If they want to go, they want to go right away. Little John hasn't been seen or heard from in months, so what is he talking about, mate, I would absolutely put him in the ground.”

Despite saying, “It is what it is, buddy, this is the fight game,” Till was eager to get in trouble with anyone whose last name ended in Fury.

“I'm going to break him, I want to break him in two – I'm going after them all, the whole family. It's me against them, it's Darren Till on his own [all of] them.

“It's never personal, I don't have any ill will towards him or John, I wish them the best of health… They were respectful, but I can't do anything about it, you know?”

Darren Till vs Tommy Fury will air live on DAZN on January 18, 2025 from the Co-Op Arena in Manchester, England.
