Nuno Mendes nearing PSG contract extension

According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, Nuno Mendes (22) is nearing the signing of a contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain.

Mendes' current contract expires in the summer of 2026, so PSG were keen to tie the Portugal international down to a new deal. Since joining PSG, initially on loan from Sporting CP in 2021 and then permanently for €38 million a year later, he has made 93 appearances for the club, winning the Ligue 1 title in each of his seasons.

A serious hamstring injury and other fitness problems limited Mendes to just six Ligue 1 appearances last season, including just two starts, one of which came in the final game of the season.

This season, the Portuguese full-back has made ten appearances in all competitions, scoring once and registering two assists. While Mendes has been hit by injury again this season, PSG were keen to extend his contract and according to Romano, they are now close to doing so. Details of a deal that runs until 2029 are now being finalized.
