‘Shut up’… Former UFC heavyweight slams fans complaining that Jon Jones is ‘ducking’ Tom Aspinall

Jon Jones has shown little to no enthusiasm for a fight with Tom Aspinall, with one heavyweight praising him for the way he plays the game.

The MMA community is currently working together in hopes of a match between the undisputed and interim champions.

Brendan Schaub Fires Back At Fans, Saying Jon Jones 'Avoiding' Tom Aspinall

At UFC 309 on Saturday night, Jon Jones defeated Stipe Miocic in Madison Square Garden, New York, USA, with a brutal spinning back kick.

But while 'Bones' was performing well at the age of 42, his Croatian-American opponent was a far cry from his brilliant prime.

Unfortunately, most fans suspected that this might be the case, which is why they wanted Tom Aspinall to face Jones.

But even with this fight behind him, the division's reigning king shows little enthusiasm for the big match.

Consequently, the fans have gone fuming. However, Brendan Schaub is on the 37-year-old's side, telling those complaining to “shut up.”

In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel, the former contender said: “I can almost guarantee we will never see another Jon Jones dominate like this again. He has an edge over the UFC.

“You should celebrate this; you should support this. If I've ever seen a resume of a fighter who demands a certain paycheck and actually gets it, it's Jon Jones.

“So choose a lane. Either you want fighters to be compensated for what they're worth, or you just want them to fight whoever they (the UFC) tell them to fight.

“You finally have a guy who has an edge over the UFC and can do that. He doesn't need anything or anyone to be considered the greatest of all time, and all he asks is, “Pay me like I'm the greatest of all time.”

“People say, 'You're avoiding him, just go in with him, that's the right thing to do,' shut up!

“If you're going to cry because fighters don't get compensated and aren't taken care of, and when a guy finally does that, then you go down on him, well, that doesn't make sense, right?

“That's fucking stupid in the grand scheme of things, isn't it? It's kind of ridiculous when you say it out loud, isn't it? It doesn't make any sense, y'all.'

While Schaub is firmly in Jones' corner, not everyone feels the same way about the situation.

Many are still furious about the legend's attitude towards the Aspinall clash, including a former world title challenger.

This MMA star believes the heavyweight champion has irreparably damaged his reputation.
