Fans’ Footballer of the Year 2024: 12 players including Liverpool legend and Man Utd star in running
Jude Bellingham, Cole Palmer, Mohamed Salah and Rodri are among the big names vying to win this year's Fans' Footballer of the Year award.
The annual voting pits the best twelve players of the calendar year against each other, with English football's biggest stars selected by a panel of experts. But you, the fans, get to decide who takes home the crown.
And while this year's shortlist includes the likes of trophy-winning sides such as Manchester City and Real Madrid, it is Newcastle United's players who have stolen the show in the last two editions, with Kieran Trippier winning last year and Bruno Guimaraes the year before.
None of these players made the list this time around, but the Magpies are once again represented. However, Anthony Gordon will do well to make it a hat-trick of wins for Newcastle, with the likes of Bukayo Saka, Virgil van Dijk and Martin Odegaard also among those hoping to lift the trophy.
Salah, meanwhile, is the only man to have won the title twice since its launch in 2020, and could make it three after another stellar year. The Egyptian has been in brilliant form for Liverpool this season as Arne Slot's side extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to nine points.
Khadija Shaw is one of three Manchester City stars on the list alongside Rodri and Phil Foden, with Liverpool and Arsenal the only other clubs represented by more than one name. Bellingham is the only nominee to play football outside England, while Manchester United's Andre Onana and Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins make up the shortlist of 12 players.
