Joe Rogan wanted to see a shocker in the most controversial fight of 2024.

The UFC commentator and popular podcaster was one of 65 million people who watched Jake Paul box Mike Tyson on Friday night in Netflix's first foray into combat sports.

'Iron Mike' was written off by many after he announced he would return to the ring at the age of 58, especially since he was booked to face someone more than thirty years his junior.

However, some believed he could pull off a major upset in his first pro fight since 2005.

Joe Rogan responds to Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson in three words

Joe Rogan openly advocated for Mike Tyson to turn back the years against Jake Paul.

“I'm preparing to watch this Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight like I'm watching someone cast a spell that I hope will actually work. And I don't really believe in magic. But I want to believe it,” he tweeted before the fight.

Unfortunately for Rogan, the spell didn't work and Tyson lost a one-sided unanimous decision in his comeback, prompting the MMA icon to return to X – formerly known as Twitter – with a three-word response.

Rogan wrote: “Magic isn't real”

The 57-year-old has not said anything else about the bout, which appears to be Tyson's last.

Mike Tyson hints at retirement in emotional statement

Tyson suggested he would fight again when he called out Logan Paul immediately after losing to his brother, but hours later he appeared to have changed his mind as he broke his silence on social media.

The former undefeated world heavyweight champion insisted he was a winner after going the distance after 'almost dying' when an mid-air medical incident forced him to pull out of his first fight date with Paul earlier this year.

“This is one of those situations where you lost but still won. I'm grateful for last night. No regrets about stepping into the ring one last time.

“I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. I lost half my blood and 25 pounds in the hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight, so I won.

“For my kids to see me stand toe-to-toe and finish eight rounds with a talented fighter half my age, in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy Stadium, is an experience no one has the right to ask for. Thank you.”
