Gavi and Frenkie de Jong pushing to replace Marc Casado vs Las Palmas
Barcelona will be forced to make at least one change ahead of their La Liga return at home to Las Palmas.
La Blaugrana go into the weekend with a four-point lead at the top of the table while the Canarians land in Catalonia.
Last weekend's 2-2 draw against Celta Vigo was a frustrating return to action after the international break in November, with Marc Casado sent off late on in Galicia.
The Spain international is now serving a one-match suspension and will miss the match against Las Palmas.
Of the 14 league games so far in the 2024/25 season, Casado has started 10, with reports from Marca suggesting a risky substitution to compensate for his absence.
Frenkie de Jong and Gavi are the most likely to step in, with the former a more direct replacement for Casado, but both players have only just returned to full fitness.
The duo have started just one league match each this season, both coming off the bench in the midweek 3-0 UEFA Champions League win over Brest.
