Shavkat Rakhmonov and Ian Garry sparring footage released
Although Shavkat Rakhmonov and Ian Garry will meet in the Octagon in a few weeks, this won't be the first time the pair have exchanged blows.
'Nomad' was initially set to battle Belal Muhammad for welterweight supremacy. But when the champion suffered an injury, the Irishman stepped in to replace him.
With Rakhmonov considered the 'bogeyman' of the division, few fighters are keen to face him in the octagon.
But having already swapped leather with the 30-year-old, Garry is confident he has what it takes to do the job.

Leaked sparring footage shows the pair of titans on the mats at the famous Kill Cliff gym as they attempt to defeat each other.
Rakhmonov finds his range early and lands a leg kick, before the Dubliner fires back with a right hand, followed by a knee to the body, earning the respect of the Uzbek-born fighter, who touches gloves with his opponent.
After seizing the advantage, Garry increased the pace, firing off his quick hands and fooling his opponent by switching stances. But a missed question mark kick sent Rakhmonov back into the spar, with the feared operator landing a left hook of his own.
Fans say Ian Garry will beat Shavkat Rakhmonov at UFC 309 after watching leaked sparring footage
Ultimately, it is important to remember that the clip available is only a light spar and does not prove what will happen in the cage.
However, the MMA community has still made a big deal out of the video, with many concluding that the polarizing Irish fighter has the edge.
One fan said: “I'm trying to tell you all, Garry is going to cook him, don't be surprised if he does,” while another confessed: “It pains me to say it but Garry looks really good. ” A third simply said: “Ian Garry will win.”
However, others are convinced the footage reveals very little, with one martial arts enthusiast commenting: “So much different to a real fight, we can't really get anything out of this, but it's still cool to see.”
