El Clasico racist incidents still awaiting verdict from Anti-Violence Commission
It has been 26 days since Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 4-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu in a match marred by incidents of racist abuse. Lamine Yamal, Raphinha and Ansu Fati were said to have been victims of this and 24 hours after the match the case was referred to the relevant authorities, including the Spanish Football Federation's Anti-Violence Commission.
However, Diario AS says a ruling on the matter has yet to be made – despite the fact that the Commission has met three times since El Clásico, with the last meeting earlier this week.
In similar cases in the past, the Anti-Violence Commission has ruled quickly – this season alone, Atletico Madrid and Espanyol were swiftly punished for the actions of a very small group of supporters. Real Madrid has already identified those responsible, but is still waiting for their own possible sanction(s).
