Pogba’s long-awaited return to football is CANCELLED last-minute

Supporters are furious after Paul Pogba's expected return to the pitch was canceled just four days before the returning Frenchman was due to play.

The former Manchester United midfielder was previously handed a four-year ban after testing positive for elevated testosterone levels following Juventus' opening match of the 2023/24 season.

Pogba successfully appealed his original ban, which was reduced to just 18 months and the World Cup winner was allowed to return to competitive action in March 2025.

The 31-year-old is looking to restart his career following the termination of his contract with Juventus and is now trying to rebuild his fitness by playing in friendlies.

His first return to action was due to come in the King's Cup match in Dubai, but he will now not play in the match that was due to start in the Middle East next week.

Football legends were due to go head-to-head at the exhibition, with the likes of John Terry and Paul Scholes alongside Pogba, but the event has now been canceled at the 11th hour.

Organizers cited 'unforeseen circumstances' as the reason for canceling the match and it has now been postponed until February, with refunds offered to ticket holders.

Announcing the decision to move the icon match, the organization said: 'Dear football fans, we regret to inform you that the King's Cup Dubai has been moved to February 2025 due to unforeseen circumstances.

'For a refund, please visit the Platinum List website and follow the instructions for your ticket.

'We will announce specific dates for the rescheduled event shortly, so stay tuned for updates. Thank you for your understanding and support -Team King's Cup,” he added.

Fans were outraged by the decision and expressed their anger at the organization, as the late cancellation caused massive problems for some ticket holders.

One fan posted on Instagram: 'That's not FAIR at all, my son will be very sad that he dreamed and was counting down days to meet Roberto Carlos and also I can't find any refund link on the website. Please inquire.”

Another angry supporter similarly added: 'Dude I've literally been counting days to see Pogba????? WHY.'
