Paris Saint-Germain closing in on Croatian talent after Real Madrid rejection
Croatia and Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Martin Baturina is being tipped as the Balkan country's next big export in the football world. The 21-year-old is being pursued by a host of top clubs in Europe and could move in the summer of 2025.
Baturina is under contract until 2028, but Dinamo is willing to consider an offer of around 25 million euros, which should not be a major problem for most of Europe's elite. Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have received interest, but Real Madrid have acquired the Croatian talent. However, Germanijak (via Sport) says Baturina has rejected their offer. They had proposed him a five-year contract, but he was reluctant to go on loan for two years from the moment he joined the club, as Los Blancos wanted.
The party that has made the most progress in the negotiations is Paris Saint-Germain. They would be willing to make the move next month, but Dinamo wants to keep Baturina until the end of the season.
Baturina has made nine appearances for Croatia so far and is part of the new generation of midfielders who will join Luka Modric in Petar Sucic's side. Baturina is comfortable in various midfield roles and has been compared to Modric, although this has more to do with his nationality than anything else. He stands out for his passing, vision and ability to play the final pass.
