Terrifying footage shows Francis Ngannou folding UFC legend in half with monstrous title-winning punch

Francis Ngannou has no shortage of highlight reel knockouts to look back on ahead of his highly anticipated return to the Octagon this Saturday.

Before his comeback, 'The Predator' will no doubt want to remind MMA fans of his crushing power when he collides with 6-foot-1 giant Renan Ferreira in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

However, ahead of his upcoming PFL debut, Francis Ngannou dipped his toe into the world of professional boxing following his contractual dispute with the UFC.

However, the 38-year-old was unable to repeat his MMA success, losing a hotly contested split decision to Tyson Fury before being defeated by Anthony Joshua in the second round.

But now Ngannou will be hoping to prove he is still a top player in his chosen discipline, with a potential showdown against UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones remaining firmly on his radar.

Francis Ngannou brutally dispatches UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic

Ngannou, as previously mentioned, is best known for his brutal finishes.

Some might say that his knockout against Alistair Overeem – when he landed a deadly uppercut – was the most awe-inspiring of his career.

And yet, while it's difficult to pinpoint his most destructive interruption, there is one that, given the circumstances, could easily be labeled as such.

Shortly after losing to UFC legend Stipe Miocic in their first meeting, Ngannou was able to quickly rebuild himself and secure four wins following his defeat to Derrick Lewis.

Miocic, meanwhile, entered their rematch at UFC 260 after a compelling trilogy against Daniel Cormier, outpointing him twice to regain and retain his heavyweight title.

And so, at the 2021 UFC Apex, the stage was set for the pair to lock horns once again, with Ngannou itching to get his hands on the belt.

It didn't take long for Ngannou to take control of the fight with his superior reach, catching his opponent with several unanswered shots before dropping him in the second round.

It was then a sharp left hand that knocked Miocic down for a second time, before the ferocious Cameroonian took out his lights with a thunderous hammerfist.

What have Francis Ngannou and Stipe Miocic done since their rematch

After beating Miocic, Ngannou defended his newly acquired trinket against top contender Ciryl Gane, whom he outwitted before making the transition to boxing.

As for Miocic, the American hasn't set foot in an octagon or even a ring since his crushing defeat.

And yet, the 42-year-old now looks to be back on track for a win against none other than pound-for-pound star Jones at UFC 309.
