60 Million Watch Paul vs. Tyson on Netflix!

Jake Paul's fight against former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson had 60 million viewers worldwide for their eight-rounder on Netflix last Friday night at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

There were 72,300 fans there to watch the event, but there wasn't much cheering after the first round. At that point the fight became hopelessly one-sided, with 27-year-old Jake beating up 58-year-old Tyson, who looked like he didn't belong in the ring.

If Netflix continues to show boxing events, it needs to focus on making sure the fights are quality and not circus acts that will make fans angry and regret subscribing. Moreover, they went to fix the video because many fans complained that the video froze or had a pause.

Fans disappointed with poor product

That's a huge number for what turned out to be such an utterly pathetic fight. It didn't have any semblance of being competitive or entertaining for the subscribers who signed up. It wasn't competitive as the naive fans had thought.

Paul had to know that by choosing an older fighter like Tyson to help build his brand, he was giving the fans a worthless product.

Fans were fooled into thinking Tyson had a chance because of the short video training clips in which he threw combinations that looked fast and powerful. The clips were short and there was no one throwing punches at him to see how he would react.

The co-featured fight between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano was watched by 50 million viewers. That was the match marred by numerous accidental head clashes and a terrible cut that Serrano suffered.

In the immediate aftermath of the fight, there was a huge backlash towards Jake from fans, who were disgusted that he was fighting the legend Mike Tyson to get cheap publicity and make a lot of money from such a fight.

De La Hoya was disgusted by watching Paul-Tyson

“As I was watching it, I was disgusted with Jake Paul for putting this together knowing Tyson was 58 years old,” Oscar De La Hoya told iFL TV about last Friday night's Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight.

“When you're going to fight a 28-year-old like Jake Paul against Tyson, who's a legend. He is a national treasure. I was a little disgusted, but not at Tyson. I felt sorry for Tyson, but I'm proud of him. Jake Paul, if you want to fight Zurdo now, let's do it, and he'll knock you out.
