Ibrahimovic rolls back the years after scoring a cheeky scorpion kick

Zlatan Ibrahimovic rolled back the years after scoring a sensational scorpion kick in a five-on-five match and celebrating in characteristic fashion.

The Swedish legend, 43, has scored a number of breathtaking wonder goals during his storied career and recently showed he still has what it takes.

More than a year after hanging up his boots at the end of his second AC Milan spell, Ibrahimovic took part in a light-hearted match and unsurprisingly stole the show.

A seemingly pedestrian-friendly play, played in an indoor venue, suddenly came to life as the towering striker made a bold attempt.

Ibrahimovic shared the video on Instagram with the caption 'Freak of nature'.

Dressed in all black and wearing a yellow vest, the veteran stood on the edge of the penalty area and watched as a teammate clipped a ball into the air.

As the ball fell, Ibrahimovic acrobatically bent his heel behind his head and hit a stunning volley into the empty net.

The former Paris Saint-Germain man was never one to miss an opportunity to celebrate. He raised his arms before pointing at the camera.

Fittingly, the video played in slow motion, giving viewers another glimpse.

Ibrahimovic officially retired from professional football at the end of the 2022-2023 season, but remains involved in the sport through his consultancy role at AC Milan.

He scored 511 goals for clubs such as PSG, Manchester United and both Milan clubs, winning a host of league titles in four different countries.

Ibrahimovic, who is notoriously optimistic and brash, has repeatedly insisted that he be recognized as the GOAT of football and a sporting 'god'.

However, Inter legend Marco Materazzi believes this is not the case.

“He thinks he was the best player in the world,” he told SemperInter. 'This is not my opinion. But he's a big, big player for me. Historically, he has scored a lot of goals.

'He won a lot of titles, maybe not the most important ones, because he lost Champions Leagues, World Cups and European Championships, but won maybe 20 Scudetti. He's a great player, he's a cracker.

'But he's not Messi, he's not Ronaldo, he's Zlatan Ibrahimovic. But in the future everyone will know about him.'
