Rooney set to star in a documentary about his time in charge of Plymouth Argyle
Manchester City did it. Arsenal did it. This also applied to Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Leeds United and of course Wrexham.
Now Plymouth Argyle has become the latest football club to give TV cameras behind-the-scenes access to make a documentary.
Ex-England captain Rooney has been in charge of Plymouth since May and has overseen 17 games so far, resulting in five wins, four draws and eight defeats.
Plymouth currently sit 18th in the championship, just one point clear of the relegation zone.
The Devon side's quest to remain with Rooney at the helm looks set to be the focus of the latest football documentary and according to The Sun, filming is already underway.
Rooney was previously the subject of a documentary.
In 2015, Rooney gave a camera crew access to his childhood home to create 'Rooney: The Man Behind the Goals'.
Rooney's new documentary is being filmed while his wife Coleen is currently in Australia taking part in the ITV show 'I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!'
Plymouth has no new match until November 22 due to the international break.
Their last match was a 1–1 draw at Derby County, one of Rooney's former clubs.
Speaking to BBC Sport after that match, Rooney said: 'It was strange going into the away dugout.
'I am very grateful to the fans for the good reception at the exit and at the end of the match.
'I have great memories here at the football club of a very difficult period in the club's history.
'I'm sure the fans knew that during the time I was here as manager I did everything I could to keep the club going.
'I know there is a mutual respect between myself and the fans and I wish the club all the best in the future.'
Rooney was in charge of Derby from November 2020 to June 2022.
Derby narrowly avoided relegation in his first season, but collapsed at the end of the following campaign.
Rooney then had a 53-game spell as manager of DC United in the US, before starting a much shorter spell as Birmingham boss in late 2023.
