A 2-2 draw with the victory of Genoa and Inter Milan against Torino saw Napoli's lead on the tip of the Serie A-Tafel cut at one point with two games to play.
In conversation with Il Mattino van Naples, Tardelli said: “Competitions like this happen: The result of Inter was clearly a factor. I still believe that only Napoli can lose this championship.
“Of course, the Azzurri has a great opportunity to almost finally close the deal in terms of the Scudetto, also because it is not as if they were confronted with an unbeatable team or an equal footing with the competition leaders. Inter simply does their work.
“They have had a new chance and maybe everything will be decided on Sunday. How did I see the Azzurri? Napoli have always achieved results, I will not say negative, but of a lower level than their standards in the Maradona to less strong teams. Despite the draw, I have to say that I have seen the team well: of course they have fallen a bit.
Momentum with Inter
On Inter and their coach Simone Inzaghi, Tardelli said: “Now Intaghi will play those who have not played many games: he has fresher players who want to show that they are good. But if Napoli wins, there is no one anymore.
“Having their thoughts on the Champions League is not a disadvantage. On the contrary, the players can recover. And then, as already seen at Torino, the reserves can easily play, which are not reserves, but ordinary bank players. Unfortunately, Napoli does not have that quality in their team.”
He added about the future of Antonio Conte in Napoli: “If he wins the championship, he could leave. If he didn't win, he would still be okay. But he has given signs of a farewell”
